Welcome to Lynn Brenner's Family Finance Blog!
If you've read my Newsday column, you already know that the questions I address are always genuine, and that they’re often fraught with drama. (Take a look at the Crime section!)
Family finance isn't just about money, investing, taxes, insurance, retirement account rules, and wills.
Family finance is about relationships between parents and children, spouses, lovers, siblings, and friends. In other words, it's about love, jealousy, generosity, and power. That's one reason we find financial issues challenging -- and fun to read about.
From now on, I'll be answering Family Finance questions from readers in this space.
I also occasionally answer questions on AARP Magazine's 'Ask the Experts' page, which you'll find HERE. And starting on November 21, 2009, I'll be writing Newsday's 'Ask the Expert' column every Saturday.
I usually post a new question and answer to this blog a couple of times a week.
I make every effort to ensure the accuracy of the information I post here. However, I am not in the business of rendering professional advice to the individual reader. I hope this blog will suggest issues to discuss and questions to pursue with your own tax, investment, and financial planning advisers.
If you're a regular reader (or think you'd like to become one), you may want to subscribe to Lynn Brenner's Family Finance. When you do, you'll automatically get each new post by email. Just enter your email address in the 'Subscription' box at the top of the column on your right and click on "Subscribe". This service is free, and you can unsubscribe at any time with one click.
If you have a personal finance question, a suggestion about a topic you'd like me to write more about, or a comment about the blog, write to me at lynn@lynnbrennersfamilyfinance.com. I love to hear from readers -- and I try to address each question in the blog, even though I can't respond personally to every email I receive.
I will NEVER post your name or email address, and I don't share my mailing list with anyone.
